TERRITORY AND COMMUNITY

Tomar is one of the richest Portuguese cities in historical heritage, of which the Convento de Cristo is the maximum splendor, but also in unique cultural traditions in the world, such as the Festa dos Tabuleiros. Aware of the importance of these values, the Municipality has seriously invested in the Templar heritage, but also in other relevant legacies, such as the Jewish legacy, to increase culture and tourism. It also did it with others that are closer in time, such as the Núcleo de Arte Contemporânea or the ongoing recovery of the old industrial complex of Levada. The municipality's strong creative and associative dynamics have also provided a wide range of shows and cultural products, with the relevant weigh of schools in this field.
