Music and film are the centre of the third phase of the ODISSEIA project, which kicks off on November 2018 under the coordination of musician and director António-Pedro. The goal is to create a musical film to be directed by the young participants from six municipalities of Artemrede (Almada, Barreiro, Moita, Oeiras, Santarém and Sesimbra).
With the theme of migration in the backdrop, this new phase includes several training sessions named Do Filme à Música (lit. From Film to Music), in which the participants will learn how to prepare, shoot and edit a short-film. They will also be composing and recording the score. Then, the six short-films will be reunited in one single musical film named Curtas Migratórias (lit. Migratory Shorts).
The first training session will be held between November 15-29 in the city of Sesimbra. The first short-film will be exhibited on November 30 at Cineteatro Municipal João Mota. The project will continue to unfold in the other five municipalities in the first half of 2018.
This is the final phase of the ODISSEIA project, whose first two parts generated E Agora Nós!, a theatre performance directed by Rui Catalão, and street arts performance Histórias em Viagem, created by Porto-based company Radar 360º. Histórias em Viagem was also the object of a documentary-feature, currently in post-production.
ODISSEIA é is a project by Artemrede, cofinanced by Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian in the framework of the second edition of the PARTIS programme and implemented in cooperation with social cooperative RUMO.
