Artemrede believes that arts and culture play a key role in building cities and citizenship, strengthening the sense of belonging to communities and promoting social welfare. For these initiatives to materialise, it is essential to see the cultural agenda from a mediation standpoint, not simply in the artist-audience relationship or the mere calling for of artistic proposals. The focus on integrated projects that optimise community involvement, encourage artistic experimentation, critical thinking, knowledge and an approximation to the arts and strengthen the participation of local cultural agents is, thus, assumed by us as a strategic priority. This context provides the framework for the activities usually integrated in the concept of Educational Project and Community Art Projects, which have played a key role in the creation and consolidation of relations between artists, theatres and communities.
